Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-25

Working draft, written from common templates for online services in Brazil. It must be reviewed by a lawyer before it is opened to the public.

1. Who we are and what BackIQ is

BackIQ is an online service for studying and testing strategies (backtest and replay) with historical market data, operated by BackIQ itself. Contact: [email protected]. It is not a broker, investment advice or consulting, does not hold money, does not place orders in third-party accounts and does not recommend buying or selling assets.

2. Acceptance

By clicking “Accept and create account” after reading these documents on the sign-up screen, or by continuing to use the service, you declare that you have read and agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Risk Warning. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be 18 or older.

3. Account and security

4. Permitted and prohibited use

It is prohibited to: (a) try to access other people’s accounts, data or systems; (b) overload the service, test for vulnerabilities without written authorization or bypass plan limits; (c) copy, resell or redistribute the market data or the service; (d) use bots/scripts to extract data in bulk; (e) use the service for any unlawful purpose. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that violate these rules, giving notice when possible.

5. Hypothetical nature of results

Backtests and simulations use historical data, do not reflect real execution (costs, slippage, liquidity, broker failures) and do not guarantee future results. Nothing in BackIQ is a promise of profit. See the Risk Warning.

6. Plans, prices and payment

7. Your content

The strategies, metrics, notes, drawings and backtests you create are yours. You give us only the license needed to store, process and show that content to you inside the service. We do not sell your content. You can delete it: deleted backtests stay in the trash for 30 days; resetting the account deletes everything you created; deleting the account ends access and erases the data within 30 days. For security, we may keep a compressed copy for up to 90 days after a reset or deletion, and then we erase it.

7.1. AI assistant

When available, the AI assistant answers based on what you ask and the context you provide. Its answers are not investment advice and may be wrong. Conversations with the AI may be used to train and improve the AI, as described in the Privacy Policy (which also explains how to object). Your backtests and strategies outside the conversations are not used for training.

8. Market data

The data comes from third-party sources or from files you import yourself, and is provided as is, for personal use inside BackIQ only, and may contain errors, gaps or delays. It may not be extracted, redistributed or used to build a competing product. Rights to the data belong to its sources, and we may change or remove sources.

9. Intellectual property

The software, brand, design and texts of BackIQ belong to BackIQ and are protected by law. You receive a personal, limited, revocable and non-exclusive license to use the service while your account is active.

10. Availability and limitation of liability

We aim to keep the service available, but it may have interruptions, errors and maintenance, with no guarantee of uninterrupted operation. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for financial losses resulting from decisions made based on BackIQ results, nor for loss of profits or indirect damages. Our total liability, where it exists, is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event. Nothing here removes rights that consumer law guarantees.

11. Privacy

The processing of personal data follows the Privacy Policy (Brazilian LGPD).

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Relevant changes will be announced by e-mail or inside BackIQ itself with reasonable notice; continuing to use the service after the stated date means accepting the new version. The version in force appears at the top of this page.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. The consumer’s home court is chosen to resolve disputes, under the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code.
